Welcome to AJPI 2002-2009 Executive Committee webpage

We are a non-profit association of graduate teachers of English. Our mission is to offer seminars, courses and other academic events to foster AJPI members' knowledge and awareness of the process of teaching and learning English, to keep them updated on the latest information of relevance to the profession and to strengthen bonds among members.

Since the Executive Committee chaired by Prof. Marcela Burgos Pawlak, co-chaired by Prof. Mabel Rodriguez and with Prof. Patricia Horihuela as treasurer took charge in 2002, with the invaluable help of various members that have participated in the different committees throughout these years,  AJPI has managed to reach an important position among the fellow associations members of FAAPI (Federación Argentina de Asociaciones de Profesores de Inglés).

Representatives of each association are summoned in Córdoba once a year for the Annual Assembly, and the FAAPI Executive Committee (of which Prof. Marcela Burgos Pawlak is also a member) meet in July and during the FAAPI Conferences as well.

As members of FAAPI,  AJPI is committed to creating a nation-wide network of EFL teachers to encourage growth, both professional and social. And through the Federation we have associate status in IATEFL, thus adding on an international dimension to your membership.

What are the benefits of becoming a member?

As a member of AJPI you will enjoy the privilege of taking part in all the activities organized by the Executive Committee at a very affordable cost (in most of them you get 50% discount in the registration fee) as well as invitations to events free of charge, such as book presentations and authors' visits to our province.

Through our weekly newsletter, AJPI Online, you will be regularly informed about ELT-related activities in Jujuy and elsewhere, university courses offered, jobs positions requested and miscellaneous news important to our professional development.

How can you become a member?

You need an official teaching degree in EFL from a state approved University or College of Education (Profesorado), two passport sized pictures and the payment of the annual fee.

Do contact us through our website or personally at most ELT events in the Northwest of our country.

New Executive Committee first picture

This photo was taken in October 2002, during the Annual Assembly where the list proposed by Prof. Marcela Burgos Pawlak was officially accepted. This committee was formed with representatives from San Salvador, Palpalá, San Pedro and Libertador Gral. San Martín, to ensure a better communication among members from the interior of the province.

Created in 1971, AJPI has PERSONERIA JURIDICA, more than a hundred members (all graduate teachers of English) and a representative in the Executive Committee of FAAPI.
